Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Resume Maker collects, how we use it, when we share it, and what choices you have when using resume-maker.net and related services.

1. Scope and Contact

This Privacy Policy applies to visitors, registered users, subscribers, and recipients who access content shared through Resume Maker. For questions, requests, or complaints about privacy matters, contact [email protected].

For now, the service is described publicly under the Resume Maker brand. If we later publish a formal operating entity, that information will be updated here without changing the core processing described in this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account and identity data, such as your email address, display name, profile image, authentication method, and related sign-in records.
  • Resume and workspace content, including resume sections, uploaded source files, share links, translation targets, JD inputs, interview prompts, interview transcripts, reports, generated cover letters, and AI chat history tied to your account.
  • Professional photo inputs and outputs, including uploaded or referenced source images, prompts, generation requirements, and resulting image URLs.
  • Billing and transaction data, such as plan selection, subscription status, renewal periods, Stripe customer or subscription identifiers, invoice identifiers, paid amounts, and payment event history.
  • Usage and attribution data, such as pages viewed, normalized page paths, referrer information, UTM parameters, first-touch attribution fields, and similar event-level metadata.
  • Browser storage and preference data, such as authentication cookies, analytics cookies, attribution cookies, theme or brand preferences, and cached client-side result URLs where the product uses local storage.

3. How We Use Information

  • Provide the core service, including account creation, authentication, resume editing, exporting, sharing, interview practice, and professional photo generation.
  • Operate AI-assisted features such as resume generation, file parsing, JD analysis, translation, grammar review, cover letters, AI chat, and interview reporting.
  • Process purchases, verify subscription access, store billing status, and respond to payment failures or account questions.
  • Secure the service, investigate abuse, enforce product limits, diagnose system issues, and maintain logs needed to operate and improve the platform.
  • Measure product performance, understand acquisition sources, and improve the website, onboarding, and conversion flows.
  • Communicate with you about login verification, account access, product support, billing follow-up, or material policy and service updates.

4. AI Processing, Uploads, and Generated Content

When you use AI-powered features, we may send relevant inputs to third-party model providers configured for the service. Depending on the feature, these inputs can include resume content, uploaded files, job descriptions, prompts, interview messages, and structured instructions needed to return a result.

When you use the professional photo feature, a source image or source image URL, prompt, aspect ratio, and related generation settings may be sent to a third-party image-generation provider. The generated image is then downloaded by our server and persisted to cloud object storage so that you can view or download the result.

AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, or unsuitable for your intended use. You are responsible for reviewing and deciding whether to keep, publish, export, or share any generated content.

5. Sharing and Third-Party Disclosures

We share information only as reasonably necessary to run the service, process your requests, protect the platform, comply with law, or support a transaction you initiate.

  • Authentication, analytics, and related identity services, such as Google, for sign-in and measurement features.
  • Payment processors and billing infrastructure, such as Stripe, to collect payments and manage subscription events.
  • Email delivery providers, such as Resend, to send one-time verification codes and service emails.
  • Storage and CDN infrastructure, such as Cloudflare R2 and associated delivery layers, to store generated assets and serve public files.
  • Third-party AI vendors configured for text or image generation, analysis, translation, or interview functionality.
  • GitHub APIs, when you explicitly ask the product to fetch repository metadata from a GitHub URL.
  • Service providers, advisors, or authorities where disclosure is required to prevent fraud, address security issues, respond to lawful requests, or complete a business reorganization.

6. Public Sharing Features

If you create a resume share link, the linked resume content can be accessed by anyone who has the URL, subject to any password protection or deactivation settings you choose. Shared pages may record aggregate view counts, and password protection reduces access but does not eliminate all risk if you distribute the URL broadly.

Please avoid placing sensitive personal, regulated, or highly confidential data into content that you plan to publish through a share link.

7. Cookies, Analytics, and Local Storage

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep users signed in, attribute first-touch acquisition, understand traffic, and remember client-side preferences. These technologies can include authentication cookies, the rm_first_touch attribution cookie, Google Analytics first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id>, and browser local storage entries for interface preferences or recent client-side results.

At present, when analytics is enabled in production, our site may load Google Analytics and set analytics or attribution-related technologies when pages load. You can block, restrict, or delete cookies in your browser, and you can use available Google opt-out tools where applicable.

We may add a more granular consent or preferences center later. If we do, this Policy will be updated to reflect the new controls.

8. Retention

  • Account records, resumes, interview history, and generated documents are generally retained until you delete them, your account is deleted, or we no longer need them for service operations, security, or legal compliance.
  • Billing records, invoices, and payment event logs may be retained for tax, accounting, dispute handling, fraud prevention, and audit purposes for longer periods.
  • Verification codes expire quickly by design, but related logs or event records may be retained for rate limiting, abuse prevention, and debugging.
  • Publicly accessible generated assets or shared files may continue to exist in caches or backups for a limited time after deletion requests are processed.

9. Your Choices and Rights

  • You can usually access, edit, export, share, or delete content directly through the product features that apply to your account.
  • You can request access, correction, deletion, or objection by contacting [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity and may keep information required for legal, security, billing, or fraud-prevention purposes.
  • You can stop using analytics cookies through browser controls and may limit certain marketing or attribution signals by clearing cookies or using private browsing settings.
  • If you do not want content to be processed by AI features, do not submit that content to AI workflows.

10. Security, International Transfers, and Children

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, but no system can guarantee absolute security. Information may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our vendors maintain infrastructure or personnel.

Resume Maker is intended for general professional use and is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without appropriate permission, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect legal, operational, or product changes. Material updates will be posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date will change accordingly.
